Role & responsibilities :

1. Procurement & Purchasing

- Identify, evaluate and onboard qualified suppliers for electrical and solar materials (modules, inverters, cables, BOS, switchgear, transformers, etc.).
- Float RFQs, prepare comparative statements, and finalize vendors based on price, technical compliance, delivery timelines, and quality.
- Negotiate commercial terms, warranty conditions, payment terms, and logistical requirements.
- Develop annual procurement plans based on project pipeline and sales forecasts.
- Ensure timely issuance of Purchase Orders (POs) and work orders.

2. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

- Maintain optimum inventory levels across central stores and project sites.
- Plan and monitor inbound & outbound logistics of critical electrical components.
- Track material consumption vs. BOQ and raise alerts on shortages or deviations.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for material safety, proper storage, and periodic physical verification.

3. Vendor Management

- Build and manage relationships with key vendors, OEMs, and contractors.
- Conduct vendor audits for quality, delivery performance, and service support.
- Maintain vendor database, rate contracts, and SLAs for long-term supply assurance.
- Resolve disputes related to quality issues, delays, and contractual non-compliance.

4. Technical Evaluation (Electrical Engineering Expertise)

- Evaluate technical datasheets, drawings, and certifications of electrical components.
- Validate supplier proposals against project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure material compatibility.
- Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) or coordinate third-party inspection when required.

5. Cost Control & Commercial Management

- Analyze project budgets and align procurement costs with approved BOQ.
- Develop cost-saving strategies through bulk purchases, vendor consolidation, or alternative sourcing.
- Track price trends of copper, aluminium, PV modules, and other key materials.




- Ensure procurement is compliant with GST, taxation, and statutory requirements.

6. Coordination with Internal Teams

- Liaise with project managers, design engineers, and planning teams to understand material requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of critical items to avoid site delays or project cost overruns.
- Provide periodic procurement status reports and dashboards to management.

7. Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare and maintain procurement records, contracts, inspection reports, delivery challans, GRNs, and warranty documents.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with IS/IEC standards and relevant safety codes.
- Implement procurement SOPs, risk management procedures, and quality assurance systems.

8. Logistics & Transportation

- Finalize transporters, negotiate freight rates, and ensure safe, timely delivery.
- Manage import procedures, customs clearance, and documentation (if applicable).
- Plan route mapping, packaging standards, and insurance for high-value equipment.

9. ERP / Software & Process Automation

- Use ERP systems (SAP, Tally, Zoho, Odoo, etc.) for procurement planning and MIS reports.
- Track POs, GRNs, vendor payments, and project-wise material allocation.
- Implement digital procurement practices for transparency and efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile :

Educational Qualification

- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E / B.Tech Electrical).
- Additional certification in Supply Chain / Materials Management (desirable).
- MBA in Operations / Supply Chain is an added advantage.

Experience

- 7–9 years of experience in Procurement, Vendor Management, and Supply Chain Management.
- Proven experience in electrical EPC,



solar EPC, construction, or industrial projects.
- Hands-on expertise in sourcing electrical components: cables, switchgear, transformers, solar modules, inverters, BOS items, etc.
- Prior experience in project-based procurement and BOQ analysis preferred.

Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of electrical materials, specifications, drawings, datasheets, and standards (IS/IEC).
- Ability to evaluate technical compliance and coordinate with engineering teams.
- Familiar with vendor audits, quality inspections, factory acceptance tests (FAT).
- Knowledge of logistics planning, warehousing, and inventory control.

Commercial & Negotiation Skills

- Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and contractors.
- Experience in preparing RFQs, comparison sheets, rate contracts, and long-term procurement agreements.
- Understanding of GST, taxation, commercial terms, warranties, and statutory compliance.

Software & Tools

- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Zoho, Odoo, Tally, etc.).
- Good command of MS Excel, MS Project, and analytical tools.
- Ability to prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and procurement forecasts.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and vendor relationship management skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical procurement practices.

- Capable of coordinating cross-functional teams (Engineering, Projects, Finance, Quality).
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability.

Other Preferences

- Willingness to travel for vendor visits, inspections, and site coordination.
- Valuable understanding of the solar industry and upcoming technologies (preferred).
- Candidates from EPC / Solar / Power / Electrical manufacturing backgrounds are highly suitable.
