Company Description Mobility India Rehabilitation Research and Training Centre (MI), established in Bangalore in 1994, is India’s largest professional NGO focused on disability-inclusive development. MI operates a model accessible Rehabilitation, Research & Training Centre since 2002, with branch and field offices across Karnataka and Assam, and has significant reach across south, east, and north-eastern India as well as middle-income countries. The organization provides comprehensive rehabilitation services and training from certificate to university level for allied and health care personnel, and hosts the only Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O;) school in India recognized by the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO).

MI collaborates with leading institutions such as IIT Madras, IIT Bombay (BETiC lab), IISc, VIT, SBMT (DEBEL, DRDO), and other partners to conduct clinical trials for assistive technologies. Its community-based, person-centered programs integrate inclusive education, social inclusion, early intervention, therapy, and assistive products, and MI has been recognized with national and state awards for outstanding work in creating barrier-free environments and services in the disability sector.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Prosthetist and Orthotist role based in Hyderabad. The Prosthetist and Orthotist will assess individuals with mobility impairments and functional limitations, perform detailed gait and biomechanical evaluations, and develop personalized treatment plans.



Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, fabricating, fitting, and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices, providing ongoing patient care and follow-up, and collaborating with multidisciplinary rehabilitation and medical teams.

The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation, contributing to quality improvement and evidence-based practice, and supporting training and knowledge-sharing activities within MI’s rehabilitation programs.

Qualifications

Strong skills in Prosthetics, including assessment, design, fabrication, fitting, and adjustment of prosthetic devices.

Proficiency in Orthotics, with the ability to prescribe, design, and fit orthotic supports for a range of conditions.

Experience in Gait Analysis and biomechanical evaluation to inform device design and treatment planning.

Solid foundation in Medicine and Patient Care, with a person-centered, ethical, and inclusive approach to rehabilitation.

Recognized qualification in Prosthetics and Orthotics (preferably ISPO-recognized program) or equivalent professional degree/diploma.

Registration with relevant qualified bodies as applicable, and adherence to clinical and safety standards.

Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.

Experience in community-based rehabilitation or disability-inclusive programs is an advantage.
