Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Proofreader (Children’s Books K–8) located in New Delhi. The Proofreader will review and correct children’s book manuscripts for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency appropriate to K–8 reading levels.

Daily responsibilities include carefully reading text against source materials, checking for age-appropriate language, ensuring clarity and coherence, and aligning content with project guidelines and educational standards. The role involves collaborating with writers, editors, illustrators, and designers to resolve discrepancies, provide constructive feedback,



and support smooth production workflows. The Proofreader will also help review translated content, maintain style guides, and meet project deadlines across multiple concurrent assignments.

Qualifications

- Strong command of Spelling and Grammar suitable for K–8 children’s books, with attention to age-appropriate vocabulary and tone.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Proofreading, including spotting errors, inconsistencies, and formatting issues in manuscripts and layouts.
- Effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear, respectful feedback to authors and editors.
- Ability to work with Translation projects, reviewing translated text for accuracy, readability, and alignment with the original intent.
- Relevant experience in children’s publishing, education content, or similar editorial roles; familiarity with school curricula is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in office.
- Comfort with basic digital tools used in editing and proofing (e.g., word processors, PDF markup, or editorial platforms).
- Undergraduate degree in English, Education, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
