Job Summary:

The Sports Coach is responsible for training and mentoring students in their
respective sports discipline, developing their skills, and preparing teams for
competitions at school, college, district, state, or national levels. The role
includes organizing practice sessions, monitoring athlete performance, and
promoting sportsmanship and teamwork among students.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and conduct regular training sessions for students in the assigned
sport.

* Develop athletic skills, techniques, and strategies for individual players
and teams.

* Identify and nurture talent among students for intra-school, inter-school, or
inter-college competitions.

* Prepare students for district, state, and national level tournaments.

* Maintain records of athlete performance, attendance, and progress.

* Ensure proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and training
facilities.

* Promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.





* Coordinate with the Sports Department or Director Sports for tournament
entries, schedules, and logistics.

Educational Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized statutory university.

Professional Certifications

* Certification in Sports Coaching from SAI – NIS (Diploma or Six-week course)
or equivalent certification from recognized sports associations/federations.

Professional Experience

* Minimum 2 years of experience as a coach at school or college level.

* Experience as a player at District, State, or National level is desirable

Skills and Competencies

* Solid coaching and mentoring skills.

* Knowledge of sports techniques, rules, and training methods.

* Ability to motivate students and manage teams effectively.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to organize training sessions and maintain records accurately.
