The FinOps Lead will be responsible for establishing and operating a formal
FinOps governance capability across cloud and on-prem environments. This role is
accountable for driving financial accountability, cost governance, and
optimization outcomes, transitioning the organization from fragmented,
tool-driven cost management to a structured, ownership-led operating model.
This role is not advisory in nature — it is accountable for measurable cost
outcomes, governance enforcement, and repeatable execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Establish FinOps Operating Model (Core Accountability)
* Design and implement a formal FinOps operating model covering:
* Roles, responsibilities, and ownership structure
* Decision rights and accountability matrix (RACI)
* Ensure explicit ownership of cost across all platforms and business units
* Drive FinOps as an organizational capability, not a consulting function
2. Governance & Execution (Primary Mandate)
* Establish and run structured governance frameworks including:
* Executive FinOps review forums
* Weekly working-level execution reviews
* Escalation mechanisms for non-compliance
* Define and enforce:
* Governance cadence
* Standard operating procedures
* Compliance controls and guardrails
