Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and upgrade database software
Monitor database performance and optimize queries
Manage backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery processes
Ensure data security, integrity, and access control
Troubleshoot database issues and minimize downtime
Support application teams with database design and changes
Perform routine maintenance, patching, and health checks
Document database configurations and procedures
Required Technical Skills
Cloud databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) experience is mandatory
Robust knowledge of SQL
Experience with databases such as:
Oracle
Microsoft SQL Server
MySQL / PostgreSQL
Backup & recovery strategies
Performance tuning and indexing
Database security and user management
Basic Linux/Unix administration
Understanding of high availability and replication
