Purpose of the Role
The Regional Commodity Manager (RCM) is responsible for developing and executing regional commodity strategies aligned with global procurement objectives. The role drives competitiveness, supplier performance, risk mitigation, localization, sustainability, and productivity improvements across assigned commodity groups while ensuring supply continuity and business growth.
The RCM acts as the primary regional interface between Business Units, suppliers, Global Commodity Managers, and procurement stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Commodity Strategy & Procurement Excellence
Develop and execute regional commodity strategies aligned with global sourcing objectives.
Drive cost competitiveness, productivity, Sustainability & resilience along with value engineering initiatives.
Support demand consolidation across India , pooling, and supplier rationalization activities.
Identify and implement localization opportunities.
Supplier Management
Manage strategic supplier relationships within assigned commodities.
Lead supplier development and performance improvement programs.
Conduct supplier segmentation and maintain preferred supplier portfolios.
Drive supplier innovation and technology scouting.
Commercial Management
Lead regional sourcing initiatives and major commercial negotiations.
Negotiate long-term agreements, framework contracts, and productivity initiatives.
Ensure contract compliance and commercial risk management.
Support claim management and commercial escalation handling.
Risk & Sustainability
Drive supply risk assessments and mitigation actions.
Establish dual sourcing and business continuity plans.
Support sustainability, decarbonization, and responsible sourcing initiatives.
Monitor commodity market trends and raw material movements.
