Position Title : Production Supervisor- Rim Shop & Press Shop

Department :Production

Reporting To : Production Manager / Plant Head

Location : Klassic Wheels Unit III, Ahilyanagar

Job Purpose

To supervise and control daily production activities in the Rim Shop and Press Shop, ensuring achievement of production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and optimum utilization of manpower and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

- Monitor and control daily production activities as per the production plan.
- Ensure achievement of shift-wise and monthly production targets.
- Coordinate with Production Planning and Control (PPC) for production scheduling.
- Minimize production losses, downtime, and material wastage.
- Ensure smooth operation of Press Shop and Rim Shop processes.

Manpower Management
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Monitor operator performance and productivity.
- Control absenteeism and maintain discipline on the shop floor.
- Conduct shift handovers and daily production meetings.
- Train operators on process requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Quality Control
- Ensure production of components as per approved quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for inspection and quality improvement activities.
- Identify and eliminate quality defects through corrective actions.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap levels and implement reduction measures.

Machine & Process Control
- Ensure proper machine utilization and productivity.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Monitor machine parameters and process adherence.
- Ensure availability of tools, dies, gauges, and consumables before production.

Safety & Compliance




- Ensure compliance with safety rules, PPE usage, and company policies.
- Conduct safety awareness and toolbox talks.
- Report and investigate accidents, unsafe conditions, and near-miss incidents.
- Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards in the production area.

Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain daily production reports.
- Monitor production efficiency, OEE, rejection, and downtime reports.
- Maintain shift records, manpower records, and machine performance data.
- Support internal and external audits.

Educational Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- ITI with relevant supervisory experience may also be considered.

Experience
- 3 to 8 years of experience in Rim Shop, Press Shop, Sheet Metal, Steel Wheel, or Automotive Manufacturing Industry.
- Experience in press operations, production planning, manpower handling, and shop floor supervision preferred.
