The ICCT is seeking an intern to join our office in New Delhi to support the transition of the heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) sector to zero-emission technologies in India. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in transportation policy research at a leading nonprofit organization.
You Will
Contribute to research analysing the total cost of ownership (TCO) of zero-emission truck technologies compared to conventional diesel vehicles in the Indian market
Support analysis of India's HDV regulatory landscape, freight decarbonization policies, and national and state-level incentives for zero-emission trucks
Assist in tracking and evaluating the deployment of zero-emission HDVs across key freight corridors and fleet operators in India
Support the development of data-driven briefs and reports
Contribute to stakeholder engagement activities, including preparation of presentations and summaries for government, industry, and civil society audiences
Deliver ad-hoc tasks as needed
You Have
Completed or pursuing a Master's degree in electric vehicle technology, electrical or mechanical engineering, transport planning, energy systems, public policy, environmental sciences, economics, or a related discipline
Familiarity with zero-emission vehicle technologies and policies is preferred
Experience with TCO modelling or emissions analysis is a plus
Excellent research, analytical, and quantitative skills, along with robust written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with data using statistical tools or languages such as Python or Excel
Microsoft Office proficiency
Proficiency in English
Ability to work 4-5 days per week (ideally 32-40 hours per week) with a duration of 3 months
