Position Summary:

Narayan Powertech Private Limited – Standex Electronics GRID at Luna, Padra Road, Vadodara is looking for an experienced Production Planner who can function as an integral part of the daily, weekly, and monthly planning cycle — translating the order book into an executable, resource-balanced production schedule across our CT, PT, and LV/MV instrument transformer lines. The individual will be responsible for converting sales orders and engineering releases into shop floor plans that respect material availability, machine capacity, manpower allocation, and the sequencing complexity introduced by customization.

The role requires someone who is comfortable working amid constant variability — where the plan needs to be re-evaluated frequently as new orders, design changes, or material delays enter the picture — while remaining anchored to structured, process-driven planning methods. The individual will be measured on their ability to consistently achieve production target lines and maintain On-Time Delivery (OTD) despite the inherent unpredictability of a highly customized, make-to-order manufacturing environment.

This role operates within a plant/manufacturing environment involving daily coordination with design, procurement, quality, and dispatch teams. Given the high degree of customization across Narayan Powertech's CT, PT, and LV/MV instrument transformer range, the Production Planner will function as an integral part of the daily, weekly, and monthly planning cadence — continuously adapting schedules to protect production target lines and On-Time Delivery, rather than operating with a static, unchanging production plan.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Planning

- Prepare and update daily production schedules for CT, PT, and LV/MV instrument transformer lines, factoring in machine availability, manpower deployment, and material readiness.
- Coordinate daily shop floor review meetings to track schedule adherence, resolve bottlenecks, and re-sequence jobs where required due to material shortages, engineering holds, or urgent customer priorities.
- Track daily output against target lines and escalate deviations proactively, along with corrective action plans.
- Maintain real-time visibility of work-in-progress (WIP) across core assembly, winding, insulation, tanking, oil filling, and final testing stages.

Weekly Planning

- Consolidate the weekly production plan by aligning open sales orders, engineering drawing releases, and material inward status.
- Coordinate weekly capacity vs.



load reviews to identify overloading or underutilization across critical work centers and rebalance the plan accordingly.
- Work with procurement and stores teams to flag upcoming material requirements for the following week, particularly for long-lead or customization-specific components.
- Track weekly OTD performance and prepare recovery plans for orders trending toward delay.

Monthly Planning

- Develop the monthly production plan in line with the sales forecast, confirmed order book, and dispatch commitments.
- Coordinate monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP;) discussions with Sales, Design, Procurement, and Quality teams to align capacity with demand.
- Analyse monthly trends in schedule adherence, rejection-driven rework, and OTD performance to identify recurring planning gaps and process improvement opportunities.
- Prepare monthly dashboards and MIS reports on production output, target line achievement, and OTD for management review.

Make-to-Order & Customization Planning

- Translate customer-specific technical requirements from sales/engineering into detailed production routings and resource plans for each order.
- Anticipate the planning impact of first-time or non-standard product configurations and build buffer and contingency plans accordingly.
- Coordinate closely with the design and engineering teams to align drawing release timelines with production start dates, minimizing idle capacity or last-minute compression of manufacturing lead times.
- Maintain a structured order prioritization framework that balances customer commitments, customization complexity, and available capacity.

Target Line Achievement & OTD Ownership

- Serve as the point of accountability for translating the sales order book into achievable, realistic production target lines, and steering execution toward those targets.
- Continuously monitor order-wise progress against committed dispatch dates and coordinate cross-functional interventions to prevent slippage.
- Build early-warning mechanisms (material shortage alerts, capacity bottleneck flags, quality hold notifications) to protect OTD before issues cascade into delays.




- Maintain a data-driven view of historical OTD performance and use it to refine future planning assumptions and lead-time estimates.

Material & Capacity Coordination

- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials (core laminations, copper/aluminium windings, insulation materials, bushings) in line with the production schedule.
- Maintain updated capacity models for critical machines and work centres, adjusting the plan as customization mix or order volume shifts.
- Flag capacity or resource constraints early, and work with operations leadership to evaluate options such as overtime, subcontracting, or resequencing.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Design/Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Dispatch teams to ensure the production plan reflects ground realities across the order lifecycle.
- Coordinate with the Quality team on non-conformance and rework cases to reassess their impact on the schedule and rebuild affected timelines.
- Support Sales and Customer Service teams with realistic delivery commitments based on current shop floor load and customization complexity.

Systems, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

- Maintain accurate and updated planning data in ERP/production planning systems, ensuring traceability of order status at every stage.
- Institutionalize structured planning templates, escalation matrices, and review cadences to reduce dependency on ad-hoc firefighting.
- Identify recurring causes of schedule disruption and drive process-level fixes in coordination with relevant departments, rather than treating each delay as an isolated event .

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred). Candidates from Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Production/Industrial Engineering backgrounds with relevant industry exposure will also be considered.
- 08–12 years of overall experience in production planning and control, with a substantial portion in electrical equipment manufacturing — preferably CT, PT, instrument transformers, or related power equipment.
- Prior exposure to the energy/power sector will be considered a solid advantage, given the technical and regulatory nuances involved.
- Demonstrated experience planning within a make-to-order or highly customized manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of applicable IS/IEC standards relevant to CT, PT, and LV/MV instrument transformers.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/production planning systems, along with capacity planning and scheduling tools.
