Company Description Jaidka Power Systems Pvt Ltd is a leading manufacturer of electric 2- and 3-wheelers in India, operating since 2017. With a nationwide presence and over 15,000 electric vehicles on the road, the company markets its two-wheelers under the brand ‘Stella Moto’ and its three-wheelers under the brands ‘Arjun’, ‘Fateh’, and ‘Ecovat’. The organization has in-house fabrication and painting facilities, and its three-wheelers are fully indigenized.
Production facilities are located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu for two-wheelers, and in Howrah, West Bengal and Hosur for three-wheelers. All electric vehicles manufactured by Jaidka Power Systems Pvt Ltd are ICAT approved, reflecting a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Role Description - Head - Production Manager - Plant Operations
Location: Howrah, West Bengal
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reporting to: Management / Director
Experience: 10–15years in Automobile / EV manufacturing, preferably with experience in assembly operations
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Production Head / Factory Manager to take complete responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility for electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers.
The person should have strong hands-on experience in vehicle assembly, production planning, manpower management and shop-floor operations. Knowledge of quality systems and fabrication will be an added advantage.
The role requires a practical, hands-on manager who can improve productivity, quality, discipline and overall factory efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Factory Operations
Take complete responsibility for day-to-day factory operations.
Ensure smooth and timely production of 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers.
Manage production, manpower, machines, materials and shop-floor activities.
Production Planning & Execution
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on requirements.
Ensure production targets are achieved within scheduled timelines.
Monitor line productivity, downtime, bottlenecks and rejection levels.
Improve production capacity and utilisation.
Assembly Operations
Strong hands-on understanding of vehicle assembly processes.
Supervise assembly lines and ensure proper sequence and process discipline.
Ensure correct fitment, torque, wiring, electrical connections and final assembly.
Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions for assembly operations.
Quality
Ensure quality is built into the production process rather than relying only on final inspection.
Work closely with the Quality team to reduce defects, rework and rejection.
Implement root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
Maintain process and quality standards across the factory.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 / quality management systems will be preferred.
Fabrication
Working knowledge of fabrication processes such as chassis fabrication, welding, grinding, fixtures and sheet-metal work will be highly preferred.
Ensure fabrication quality, dimensional accuracy and consistency.
Coordinate with fabrication and assembly teams to eliminate fitment issues.
Manpower Management
Manage production supervisors, line leaders, technicians and shop-floor workers.
Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
Improve workforce productivity and discipline.
Train and develop supervisors and operators.
Process Improvement
Identify bottlenecks and improve production processes.
Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and other productivity improvement practices.
Reduce wastage, rework, rejection and unnecessary movement of materials.
Improve cycle time and overall OEE.
Materials & Coordination
Coordinate closely with Purchase, Stores, Quality, Engineering and Dispatch.
Ensure timely availability of components and materials for production.
Minimise line stoppages due to material shortages.
Vehicle Quality & Final Inspection
Ensure every vehicle leaving the factory meets defined quality standards.
Monitor end-of-line testing and inspection.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of production.
Factory Discipline & Safety
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, 5S and shop-floor discipline.
Ensure compliance with factory safety procedures.
Identify and eliminate unsafe working practices.
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have:
10–18 years of experience in automobile / automotive / EV manufacturing.
Strong experience in vehicle assembly and production management.
Experience as Production Head, Assembly Head, Factory Manager, Plant Manager or similar senior role.
Experience in 2-wheeler / 3-wheeler / automotive manufacturing will be strongly preferred.
Good understanding of automobile assembly processes.
Working knowledge of fabrication and welding processes preferred.
Knowledge of quality management systems / ISO 9001 preferred.
Experience in manpower planning and shop-floor management.
Strong understanding of production planning, productivity, rejection and rework control.
Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings and production documents.
Positive knowledge of Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Should be hands-on and comfortable working on the shop floor.
Preferred Background
Candidates from companies involved in:
Electric 2-wheelers / 3-wheelers / automotive assembly /commercial vehicles / auto fabrication / vehicle body & chassis manufacturing will be preferred.
