Responsibilities

Yard Operations Management

Supervise and manage all activities related to material receiving, storage, stacking, dispatch, and movement within the yard.
Ensure optimum yard space utilization while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
Monitor inbound and outbound cargo activities to support seamless EXIM operations.
Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, customs agents, and warehouse teams for smooth cargo flow.

Inventory & Material Control

Maintain accurate records of inventory, stock positions, and yard occupancy.
Conduct periodic physical verification of materials and reconcile discrepancies.
Ensure proper identification, tagging, and traceability of materials stored in the yard.
Monitor aging inventory and recommend corrective actions.

Documentation & Compliance

Ensure compliance with customs regulations, EXIM policies, statutory requirements, and company SOPs.
Maintain accurate documentation related to import/export consignments.
Coordinate with customs, port authorities, and regulatory agencies whenever required.




Support audit requirements and compliance reviews.

Process Improvement & R&D; Activities

Analyze yard operations and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce turnaround time.
Develop and monitor yard performance metrics and dashboards.
Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and optimization of yard management processes.
Drive continuous improvement projects related to inventory management, safety, and operational excellence.

Team Management

Lead, mentor, and develop yard supervisors, operators, and contract workforce.
Ensure manpower planning and deployment as per operational requirements.
Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.

Health, Safety & Setting

Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational guidelines.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Promote a zero-incident culture within the yard.
