About our Client

Our client is a Deep Tech-focused VC fund with an established track record of backing category-defining companies across foodtech, energy, climate and supply chain from early stage through growth.

The fund is now raising and deploying a new growth-stage vehicle, extending its charter into Series B/C investments in deep tech businesses that have moved past product-market fit and are scaling. We are looking for a Principal to lead this growth investing charter, someone who can source, evaluate and win growth-stage deep tech deals, and represent the fund at the board level as portfolio companies scale.

Roles & Responsibilties

Deal Sourcing & Origination

- Build and own a proprietary pipeline of Series B/C deep tech opportunities across broader DeepTech ecosystem
- Develop a strong network across founders, co-investors, operators and domain experts in these sectors
- Track emerging deep tech themes and translate them into actionable investment theses

Investment Evaluation & Execution

- Lead end-to-end diligence on growth-stage opportunities
- Structure and negotiate deal terms; drive investment committee approvals
- Partner with legal, finance and technical experts to close transactions efficiently

Portfolio Engagement

- Sit on or support boards of portfolio companies; act as a trusted advisor to founders on scaling challenges
- Help portfolio companies with follow-on fundraising, key hires,



and strategic partnerships
- Monitor portfolio performance and flag risks or opportunities early

Fund & Franchise Building

- Contribute to the fund's thought leadership and market positioning in deep tech growth investing
- Mentor junior investment team members (analysts/associates)
- Represent the fund at industry forums, founder events and LP conversations as needed

Ideal Candidate

- 8–12 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, growth equity with meaningful exposure to technology or deep tech sectors
- Demonstrated experience evaluating and/or closing growth-stage (Series B/C+) investments or Operating experience within a deep tech, climate, energy or allied business
- Robust financial modeling, structuring and negotiation skills
- Track record of building founder relationships and being a trusted operating partner, not just a capital provider
- Excellent communication skills to be able to represent the fund credibly with founders, co-investors and LPs
- Existing network among deep tech founders and growth-stage co-investors in India/globally
- Exposure to board-level engagement with portfolio companies
