The Role:

Our SME customers increasingly ask us to spend time inside their factories before they buy — to study their processes, talk to their operators, and show exactly where Yantra can create value. You will be the person who does this.

This is a hands-on, shop-floor-first role that blends industrial engineering with pre-sales consulting. You will spend 2–3 days at a time inside customer plants, run structured discovery studies, execute pilots on a cell or line of machines, and translate the findings into a clear business case the owner/MD can act on.

What You Will

Do

- Factory discovery studies: Spend 2–4 days at prospect/customer plants studying their manufacturing process — machine layout, cycle times, changeovers, bottlenecks, downtime patterns, quality losses.
- Operator and supervisor conversations: Interview operators, supervisors,



and maintenance teams to understand ground realities (not just what management believes is happening).
- Loss analysis: Apply Lean / TPM thinking (16 major losses, OEE waterfall, 7 wastes) to quantify where the plant is losing money today.
- Traceability discovery: Map the customers current traceability practices — route cards, registers,

batch tags — identify gaps against their end-customer/audit requirements (IATF, AS9100, export norms), and show how Yantra's Traceability solution closes them with quantified advantages: audit readiness, recall containment, and rejection root-cause speed.

- Pilot execution: Set up and run a Yantra pilot on one cell or line — work with our tech team on machine connectivity, define KPIs, monitor for 2–4 weeks, and validate improvement.
- Business case & presentation: Convert findings into a simple, numbers-backed report and present the benefits to the customers leadership — “here is what you're losing, here is what Yantra found,here is the payback.”
- Feed the product team: Bring shop-floor insights back to our product and engineering team so the platform keeps getting better for SME realities.

What We Are Looking

For

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing plant — production, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement roles.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing,



TPM, 5S, or Six Sigma (Green Belt or equivalent practical exposure preferred;

certification not mandatory if you have real shop-floor results).

- Comfortable calculating and explaining OEE, cycle time, takt time, downtime Pareto, and changeover losses.
- Able to talk to a machine operator in Tamil and to an MD in a boardroom — and be credible with both.
- Strong observation and documentation skills — you can walk a shop floor and come back with a structured picture, not just impressions.
- Willingness to travel extensively (expect 10–15 days/month at customer sites).
- Basic comfort with data — Excel analysis is a must; exposure to any MES/OEE/IoT software is a plus.
- Exposure to quality systems and traceability requirements (IATF 16949, AS9100, PPAP, customer audits, batch/lot control) is a strong plus — especially if you have faced a customer audit or handled a rejection/recall investigation.
- Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or related field.
