About the Role
We are seeking a Scientific Editor based in India to join the Joule editorial team and contribute to the journal’s continued development as a leading destination for transformative energy research.
Working closely with and reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, the Scientific Editor will assess and manage research submissions across Joule’s broad scope, identify emerging areas of scientific importance, commission influential content, and build robust relationships with researchers around the world.
The successful candidate will help shape the scientific direction of the journal and ensure that the work published in Joule is rigorous, distinctive, impactful, and relevant to the global energy research community.
Responsibilities
Handling manuscripts through the editorial and peer-review process, rigorously evaluating submissions against Joule's demanding standards for scientific quality, technical rigor, originality, and broader significance, and making well-reasoned editorial decisions.
Attracting submissions of high-quality research articles and commissioning reviews, perspectives, commentaries, and other editorial content from leading researchers and experts.
Traveling to international conferences, workshops, and research institutions to engage with scientists, identify emerging research directions, and promote the journal and portfolio.
Collaborating with editorial teams across Cell Press to understand the vision and scope of relevant journals, identify manuscripts suitable for transfer to the
