Role Description This is a full time, on-site role based in Khed for a Platform Engineering Head – Upper Body BIW Design within the Automotive and Farm Equipment Business. The role involves leading the design and development of upper body BIW (Body-in-White) structures for vehicle platforms, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, cost, and timing targets.

The Platform Engineering

Head will oversee cross-functional engineering teams, establish design standards and best practices, and guide concept creation, detailed CAD modeling, and drawing release. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with product planning, manufacturing, CAE, and supplier teams, reviewing designs for manufacturability,



and resolving technical issues during prototype build, validation, and launch. The role also includes mentoring engineering talent, driving innovation in lightweight and sustainable BIW solutions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in BIW and automotive body engineering, including upper body structures, materials, joining technologies, and vehicle safety requirements.

Proficiency in CAD and PLM tools commonly used in automotive design (e.g., CATIA, NX, or similar), with experience in 3D modeling, packaging, and drawing release.

Experience in product development processes, from concept to launch, including DFMEA, DVP, validation testing, and design-for-manufacturability.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing engineering teams, setting technical direction, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex engineering trade-offs and program constraints.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline; a master’s degree or equivalent advanced qualification is an advantage.

Relevant experience in automotive OEM or tier-1 environments, preferably in platform engineering or BIW design leadership roles
