Job Opening: Plant Head & Operational Manager – Heavy Fabrication & Structural Steel

A leading heavy fabrication and structural steel company specializing in modular assemblies, ducting, gratings, railings, and export-oriented projects. We are seeking a seasoned Plant Head & Operational Manager to lead end-to-end manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence.

Position: Plant Head & Operational Manager

Location: Talawade, Dehu Pune

Industry: Heavy Fabrication / Structural Steel Manufacturing

Core Responsibilities

- Plan, schedule, and execute daily/weekly production across cutting, fabrication, welding, and finishing lines to meet project timelines.
- Optimize manpower deployment, shift planning, and skill mapping to match production load.
- Drive machine & equipment utilization; plan preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular wastage/scrap reviews (material, man-hour, rework losses) and implement corrective actions.
- Lead Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to boost throughput, reduce cycle time, and improve overall plant efficiency (OEE).
- Monitor and report key production KPIs: output tonnage, cost per ton, rejection %, on-time delivery, machine uptime.
- Coordinate closely with project, design, QC, procurement,



and stores teams to ensure material availability and process alignment.
- Ensure adherence to welding codes, quality standards, and safety protocols across the shop floor.
- Build, train, and manage supervisors, engineers, and shop-floor staff; drive accountability and performance culture.
- Identify bottlenecks in production flow and drive layout/process improvements for better space and resource utilization.
- Support cost control initiatives for power, consumables, and manpower costs without compromising quality or timelines.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Production Engineering.

Experience

- 12–18 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and plant operations.
- Proven track record of owning end-to-end production for structural steel fabrication plants, from raw material to dispatch.

Required Skills

- Solid production background in heavy fabrication/structural steel, equipment, ducting, chimney, carbon steel fabrication, painting, blasting.
- Expertise in resource management (men-machine-material).
- Deep machine & process knowledge, including maintenance planning.
- Proven Kaizen/continuous improvement implementation track record.
- Strong grasp of steel industry best practices.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
