Role Description This is a full time, on-site Physical Design Engineer role based in the Greater Ahmedabad Area.

The Physical Design

Engineer will work on ASIC/SoC implementation flows, including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and timing closure. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with front-end design teams to understand constraints, running and analyzing STA, power, and signal integrity checks, and performing physical verification (DRC, LVS) to ensure design quality. The role also involves optimizing area, power, and performance, preparing documentation and reports,



and supporting tape-out activities while following established design and quality processes. The engineer will participate in design reviews, contribute to methodology improvements, and assist in resolving design issues across project phases.

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of ASIC/SoC physical design flows, including floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, and timing closure.
- Experience with EDA tools for physical implementation, STA, and physical verification (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, or similar).
- Knowledge of timing analysis, power optimization, and signal integrity concepts relevant to deep submicron technologies.
- Familiarity with design-for-test (DFT) considerations and integration of physical design with front-end and verification teams.
- Proficiency in scripting (such as Python, Perl, or Tcl) to automate flows and analyze design data.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team, communicate clearly, and take ownership of assigned blocks or projects.
- Prior experience in physical design for tape-out-ready chips, or relevant internships, is an advantage.
