Phlebotomist Job Role

Job Responsibilities

1. Collect blood samples from patients safely and accurately using venipuncture or capillary techniques.
2. Verify patient identity before sample collection.
3. Label, document, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
4. Follow infection control, safety, and biomedical waste disposal protocols.
5. Maintain proper hygiene and sterilization of equipment.
6. Explain the blood collection procedure to patients and ensure their comfort.
7. Perform home sample collection when required.
8. Maintain accurate records of collected specimens and patient information.
9. Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and laboratory staff for timely processing of samples.
10. Ensure adequate stock of collection materials and report any shortages.

- Qualifications:

1. Higher Secondary (10+2)



or equivalent.
2. Certificate/Diploma in Phlebotomy, DMLT, or CMLT preferred.
3. Freshers and experienced candidates are welcome to apply.

- Required Skills:

1. Positive venipuncture and blood collection skills.
2. Knowledge of infection control and specimen handling.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.
5. Ability to work with accuracy, empathy, and professionalism.
