Job Summary: The pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. This role involves dispensing prescriptions, providing medication counseling, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Dispensing: Accurately fill prescriptions and verify dosages, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Patient Counseling: Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions, promoting adherence to therapy.
Clinical Support: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and monitor treatment plans.
Inventory Management: Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining records of medications.
Health Screenings: Conduct health and wellness screenings,
such as blood pressure checks and diabetes management.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Continuous Education: Stay updated on pharmaceutical advancements, new medications, and best practices in patient care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of pharmacy (B.pharm) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid pharmacist license in the state of practice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple priorities.
