Job Description

To undertake Radio / Telecommunications systems design & engineering activities within the group, Lead the team for projects independently, analyse the project requirements and provide input to the project manager in respect of both design and consultancy services. To provide technical support and assistance.

Responsibilities

Undertaking of tasks as assigned, in particular:

The candidate shall be responsible for the Co-ordination and assurance of Telecommunications Systems design. The candidate is required to have a proven working knowledge of the activities necessary to produce fully assured designs for the following systems
Radio systems (UHF analogue radio, Tetra Radio, DAS, DMR, GSM-R, LTE, 5G, Point to Point microwave and WiFi technologies),
Structured Cabling,
Public Address / Voice Alarm systems,
Passenger Information System,
Closed Circuit Television systems,
Access Control systems,
Intrusion Detection,
Passenger Help Point systems,
Wireless System,
Networking and Telephone System,
Cabling Containment System




Radio system design experience for systems such as UHF analogue radio, Tetra Radio, DMR, GSM-R, LTE, 5G, and WiFi technologies.
Design experience for Inbuilding Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
Design experience with Point to Point Microwave Radio link design
Design experience in using the following type of radio design software :-
HTZ Communications – RF Modelling software for above ground RF Coverage Design. Or other similar types of RF Modelling Software
Ekahau Pro – WiFi RF modelling software for Inbuilding WiFi system design. Or other similar types of WiFi RF Modelling Software
IBWave – RF Modelling software for Inbuilding or Tunnel radio coverage, this software also produces RF schematics for the radio systems. Or other similar types of RF Modelling Software
Pathloss – Point to Point Radio link design and some basic RF coverage modelling. Or other similar types of Point to Point Radio Modelling Software
Any practical experience
