Position Description:
We are looking for Oracle and PostgreSQL DBA to join our Database Operations team that works 24x7x365 to ensure our critical systems are up and serving our customers round the clock. The candidate should have the solid mindset to look at the bigger picture, think over and beyond, suggest steps to gain greater control over complex systems.
In this role, the Candidate is responsible for proactively monitoring the key dashboards, analyzing the events and resource contentions and troubleshooting them in a timely manner, provide solutions for resolving them before they create a widespread impact. This role requires strong hands-on experience in database installation, configuration, administration and routine scheduled activities such as patching, backup and recovery, Ops work pockets and performance tuning to quickly understand end to end application flow.
Job Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Database binaries installation, configurations, troubleshooting, performance tuning skills required.
- Experience implementing and managing Clustering, High Availability systems and Disaster recovery systems.
- Strong experience on Oracle versions 11g, 12c and 19c along with Linux, RHEL and OUL.
- Strong experience on Postgres 9x, 10x, 11x, 12x, 13x and 14x versions
- Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers).
- Must have strong experience with shell scripting and Python as optional
- Ability to implement automation to reduce manual administrative tasks through use of jobs or other technologies.
- Experience in database upgrade/migrate, patching, backup recovery of large databases.
- Plan and implement major upgrades, ensuring system integrity and monitoring
- Extensive hands-on experience in Database migrations from lower to higher versions in
- Database Backup & Recovery, replication in bi-direction.
- Own database maintenance plans, including rebuilding/reorganizing indexes, integrity checks
- Experience with Enterprise environment change control procedure.
- Work with developers to improve database performance, slow running queries / processing
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
- Environments Setup High Availability as part Disaster Recovery Strategy for the Databases
- Implement and maintain database security
- Analyze, solve, and prepare RCA for production outages.
- Debug and troubleshoot database system failures and provide solutions quickly.
- Participate in planning efforts with stakeholders and IT groups.
- Analyze business process application requirements to produce formal analysis and design documents with minimal supervision.
- Provide cost/time estimates, capacity planning of database environments.
- Institute process for continuous improvement, perform other related duties as assigned.
- Assist on critical production issues, identify root cause and provide mitigation plan.
- Work with various product/application teams across the company
- Understand the product architecture and prepare Service Improvement for efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 6+ years of rich experience on multiple database technologies primarily Oracle and Postgres.
- Experience in implementing and managing database clustering and HA/DR systems.
- Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers).
- Experience in database upgrade/migrate, patching, backup recovery of large databases.
- Ability to develop SQL and PL/SQL scripts and Strong Automation mindset/experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Positive attitude and strong commitment to delivering quality work, Ability to multitask under pressure,
prioritize work based on criticality.
- Should be flexible and open to work in 24x7 environment in any shifts, willing to work on holidays, over weekends as per the demand from Project.

- Problem Solver: Configures, administers and manages core monitoring infrastructure to support the tools (custom or vended), including new releases, upgrades, patch, and vulnerability management. Champions on core observability principles delivery solutions based on effective Application Performance Monitoring, Infrastructure or Platform Monitoring, Real User Monitoring, Synthetics Monitoring, Mobile Monitoring, Network Monitoring and SaaS / Cloud Monitoring.
- Automation and Governance: Administers IT Runbook system to ensure all processes are properly documented and adhered to published standards. Enforces compliance requirements for documentations data integrity, accuracy, and completeness. Helps automate, streamline or rectify workflows required for onboarding or instrumentation of applications, infrastructure, databases, and other middleware tiers to monitoring products.
- Site Reliability Mindset: Participates in root cause analysis exercise and builds post-mortem documents of the critical problems. Identifies opportunities, design and build automated tools that help reduce efforts and saves cost on repeatable tasks for cross-platform products.
