About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Ontologist with solid expertise in Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) and Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) semantic modeling. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and governing enterprise knowledge models, modeling banking domains using OWL, creating and maintaining entity module and integration contracts for multiple banking applications, enabling interoperability through semantic frameworks, and supporting enterprise knowledge graph initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Ontology Design &

- Development:
- Design and maintain FIBO-V vocabulary aligned to enterprise banking requirements.
- Develop semantic models using RDF, RDFS, OWL, and related semantic web standards.
- Model BIAN service domains and business capabilities as OWL ontologies.
- Create reusable ontology patterns, controlled vocabularies, and taxonomies.

FIBOBIAN Integration:

- Build and maintain FIBO ? BIAN bridge models to ensure semantic interoperability.
- Map banking business concepts, processes, and entities between FIBO and BIAN frameworks.
- Support enterprise-wide semantic integration and knowledge graph initiatives.

Semantic Governance &

- Validation:
- Define ontology constraints,



business rules, and validation mechanisms.
- Ensure semantic consistency across ontology models and knowledge graphs.
- Establish ontology governance standards and best practices.

Query Development &

- Optimization:
- Develop, enhance, and optimize SPARQL queries for large-scale knowledge graphs.
- Improve query performance and semantic data retrieval.
- Support semantic analytics and business reporting requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on semantic technologies and knowledge graph implementation.

Tech Stack:

- Semantic Technologies: RDF, RDFS, OWL, SPARQL, Semantic Reasoning, Knowledge Graph Architecture, SHACL.
- Banking Frameworks: FIBO, BIAN, Banking Domain Data Models.
- Graph Technologies: GraphDB, Stardog, Apache Jena, RDF4J, TopBraid, Neo4j.
- Programming: Python for ontology automation.

Qualifications:

- 8 - 12 years of experience.
- Locations: Bangalore &
- Chennai.
- Strong experience in Banking and Financial Services domains.
- Expertise in ontology lifecycle management, governance, and semantic modeling best practices.
- FIBO and/or BIAN implementation experience is highly preferred.
