Role & responsibilities
- Perform laboratory experiments for process development, route scouting, process optimization, and impurity reduction.
- Execute API synthesis as per approved experimental protocols and development plans.
- Maintain laboratory logbooks, experimental records, raw data, and technical documentation in compliance with GLP and data integrity requirements.
- Prepare and review experimental reports, process development reports, and technology transfer documents.
- Support process scale-up activities and technology transfer from R&D; to Pilot Plant.
- Coordinate with Analytical R&D;, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), Production, and Engineering teams for smooth project execution.
- Conduct literature searches, patent reviews, and scientific evaluations to support process development.
- Identify process improvements to enhance yield, quality, cost efficiency, and safety.
- Participate in process validation, risk assessments,
and troubleshooting during scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, solvents, and hazardous materials.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping activities.
- Follow cGMP, GLP, EHS, and company SOPs at all times.
- Participate in internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections by providing required technical documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing within the R&D; team.
Preferred candidate profile
- M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry), from a recognized institution.
- Relevant experience in API Process R&D; within a pharmaceutical company.
- Hands-on experience in multi-step organic synthesis, process optimization, and scale-up activities.
