Role Description This is a full-time, in office Ship Broker role based in Mumbai. The Ship Broker will manage the end-to-end chartering process for chemical tankers and oil specialty cargoes, including sourcing suitable vessels, negotiating charter party terms, and finalizing fixtures. The role involves monitoring freight markets, analyzing rates, and advising clients on optimal shipping options. The Ship Broker will maintain and develop relationships with ship owners, charterers, and traders,



while coordinating closely with internal teams to ensure accurate documentation and smooth voyage execution. Daily responsibilities also include market reporting, maintaining an updated database of ships and cargoes, and proactively identifying new business opportunities.
Qualifications
Strong brokerage skills with experience in shipbroking or related commercial roles in shipping.
Knowledge of freight and chartering practices, including freight rate analysis and vessel employment.
Understanding of international trade and shipping logistics, with exposure to cross-border transactions.
Familiarity with commodity markets, especially chemicals and oil specialty products, and their impact on shipping demand.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Ability to analyze market data, prepare reports, and make informed commercial recommendations.
