We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead certain digital transformation initiatives across our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying, designing, implementing, and scaling digital solutions that improve operational efficiency, compliance, traceability, and user productivity across manufacturing and plant support functions.

This role will play a key part in driving ownership and continuous improvement of core manufacturing digital systems at Sun Pharma — SAP (PP, MM /WM ,PM modules) along with digitizing paper-based and manual workflows such as eLogbook, Permit to Work, electronic checklists, line clearance, cleaning and equipment usage records, shift handovers, and related GMP workflows. The role requires close collaboration with Manufacturing, QA, Engineering, EHS, IT, CSV/Validation, and external technology partners to ensure solutions are compliant, practical, scalable, and well adopted by end users.

Key Responsibilities Digital Initiative Identification and Prioritization

- Identify opportunities to digitize manual, paper-based, and spreadsheet-driven plant workflows.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize initiatives based on business value, compliance impact, feasibility, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for plant digital initiatives.

Business Process Mapping and Solution Design

- Understand current-state processes across manufacturing and plant support functions.
- Map process flows, pain points, control points, approval requirements, and compliance dependencies.
- Translate business requirements into digital workflow requirements, use cases, and functional specifications.




- Ensure workflow simplification and standardization prior to digitization wherever necessary.

Project Delivery and Implementation

- Lead end-to-end implementation of plant digital solutions from concept through rollout.
- Coordinate with IT, automation, validation, quality, operations, and vendors for design, build, testing, deployment, and support.
- Manage project scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, governance, and stakeholder communication.
- Support pilot deployment, phased rollout, and post-implementation stabilization.

Compliance and Validation Support

- Ensure all digital initiatives align with GMP, data integrity, and electronic records requirements.
- Work with QA and validation teams to support URS, risk assessments, test scripts, UAT, SOP updates, training records, change controls, and validation documentation.
- Ensure solutions are audit-ready and support sustainable compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards.

Change Management and User Adoption

- Drive user adoption through structured training, communication, and change management.
- Engage with end users on the shopfloor to ensure solutions are practical and fit for purpose.
- Monitor usage, adoption barriers, and user feedback, and drive corrective actions where required.
- Build a digital-first culture within plant operations through effective engagement and problem-solving.

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
- Define and track KPIs for implemented digital solutions.
- Measure impact in terms of compliance, productivity, turnaround times, reduction in paperwork, reduction in manual errors, and user adoption.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities post deployment.

Scope of Work

- Typical initiatives may include SAP related improvements along with eLogbook implementation, digital Permit to Work workflows, electronic checklists and approvals, digital line clearance records, shift handover digitization, equipment usage and cleaning workflow digitization, maintenance and utility workflow digitization, exception capture and escalation workflows,



and other plant digital use cases supporting manufacturing effectiveness and compliance.

Travel Estimate 30-40% of time Job Requirements Educational Qualification Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

- Strongly Preferred (But Not Mandatory)

Postgraduate Qualification Such As

- M.Tech / MS (Pharma, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing)
- MBA / PGDM (Operations, Supply Chain, or Systems)

Experience Must-Have:

- Knowledge on SAP Production related modules - SAP PP/MM/ WM
- Relevant experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, manufacturing IT, digital transformation, plant systems, automation, or operations excellence.
- Experience in digitizing manufacturing or plant support workflows preferred.
- Experience working in cross-functional roles involving plant operations, quality, IT, and vendors
- Strong process mapping, business analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
- Good project management and implementation skills.
- Robust communication, training, and change management capability.
- Familiar with GXP regulations for Pharmaceutical Drug formulation plants.
- Ability to create best practices for batch execution and documentation.

Good-to-Have

- Experience with EBR/MES rollouts.
- Knowledge of OT/automation systems.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Prior experience in large-scale process harmonization
- Experience with low-code/no-code applications, or plant digital tools.
