JOB DESCRIPTION: Manager Communication

Annual CTC: 12 16 LPA (Inclusive of all benefits)

Role Overview The Manager Communication shall be responsible for leading IIIDEM's institutional communication, media relations, public outreach, brand positioning, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. The incumbent shall develop and implement integrated communication strategies, oversee print, digital, and social media communication, and strengthen IIIDEM's institutional image through effective dissemination of its programmes, publications, research, and achievements.

The role requires close coordination with senior management, Election management bodies, Government agencies, media organizations, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.

Scope of Work

- Develop and implement IIIDEM's communication and media strategy.
- Lead institutional communication across print, digital, electronic, and social media platforms.
- Manage media relations, stakeholder communication, and public outreach initiatives.
- Oversee preparation and dissemination of communication materials and institutional publications.
- Supervise communication teams, and external communication agencies, wherever applicable.

Key Responsibilities Communication Strategy & Brand Management

- Develop and implement integrated communication strategies aligned with IIIDEM's institutional objectives.
- Strengthen IIIDEM's brand identity and ensure consistency in institutional messaging across all communication platforms.
- Identify opportunities to enhance IIIDEM's national and international visibility.

Media Relations & Public Communication

- Serve as a primary communication interface with media organizations.
- Build and maintain relationships with print, electronic, digital, and broadcast media.
- Coordinate media coverage, Interviews, press briefings, and official statements for institutional programmes and events.

Digital Communication and Publications

- Oversee development of content for institutional publications, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, website, and social media platforms.
- Lead digital outreach campaigns and monitor media coverage and public perception.
- Ensure timely dissemination of institutional news, announcements, achievements, and event updates.
- Review and approve press releases, speeches, media briefs, articles, newsletters,



and other communication materials in coordination with programme divisions and subject matter experts.

Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach

- Coordinate communication with Election Commission of India, Government Ministries, constitutional bodies, academic institutions, international organizations, Election Management Bodies (EMBs), development partners, and media agencies.
- Support institutional collaborations, conferences, delegations, and outreach initiatives through effective communication.
- Lead communication planning and publicity for institutional programmes, workshops, conferences and other major events.

Team Leadership & Coordination

- Lead and mentor communication professionals, content writers, designers, photographers, videographers, and social media personnel.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor deliverables, and Coordinate with external agencies and creative partners to ensure quality outputs.

Reporting & Documentation

- Prepare communication strategies, media reports, dashboards, and impact assessments.
- Maintain media databases, communication archives, and stakeholder directories and related records.
- Present communication performance reports to senior management.

Minimum Qualification Essential

- Master's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Communication, English, Advertising, Digital Media, or a related discipline from a recognized university/institution.

OR
- Bachelor's Degree in the above disciplines with substantial relevant professional experience in media relations, public communication, corporate communications, or stakeholder engagement.

Minimum Experience

- Minimum 8 years of post-qualification professional experience in Corporate Communication, Media Relations, Public Relations, Journalism, Government Communication, Digital Communication, or related domains.
- Experience in managing communication for Government organizations, constitutional bodies, educational institutions, public sector organizations, media houses,



or reputed corporate organizations will be preferred.
- Experience in handling national-level events, media campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and public communication initiatives is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in leading communication teams will be an added advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies Communication & Media

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Strong media networking, relationship management and stakeholder management skills.
- Expertise in drafting press releases, speeches, media briefs, articles, newsletters, and institutional publications.
- Strong understanding of government communication protocols and media engagement practices.

Digital and Professional Skills

- Positive understanding of digital communication strategies, website content management, social media platforms and analytics.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, report writing, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality and timelines.

- Strengthen IIIDEM's visibility and institutional brand through effective communication strategies.

- Ensure effective media engagement and timely dissemination of institutional information.

- Enhance digital presence and ensure timely publication of high-quality communication materials.

KRA 4: Stakeholder Engagement
- Strengthen communication with government agencies, ECI, media organizations, academic institutions, and strategic partners.

KRA 5: Communication Governance
- Maintain high standards of editorial quality, communication consistency, and team performance.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience in strategic communication, media relations, institutional branding and public affairs. Experience in Government organizations, constitutional bodies, academic institutions, public sector organizations or reputed media organizations will be highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to position IIIDEM as a premier institution through effective, high-impact communication.
