About the Program

BharatCares is implementing an experiential learning program aimed at introducing school students to practical engineering, vocational, design, and maker-space skills. The program focuses on hands-on learning through activities involving machines, materials, basic engineering concepts, construction techniques, electronics, digital fabrication, and creative problem-solving.

The Trainer will be responsible for facilitating engaging practical sessions in schools and helping students develop foundational technical, design, and innovation skills through activity-based learning.

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Trainer – Machines & Materials to conduct hands-on learning sessions with school students in Savli, Vadodara.

The trainer will facilitate practical workshops and activities related to engineering, construction, electronics, tools, materials, design thinking, and maker education. The sessions will primarily be conducted in Gujarati, making strong local language communication skills essential.

The ideal candidate should enjoy working with children, possess practical technical skills, and be capable of making complex concepts easy and engaging for students.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Facilitation & Training

- Conduct practical and activity-based learning sessions for school students.
- Facilitate hands-on workshops in Gujarati.
- Demonstrate safe and effective use of tools, machines, and materials.
- Encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving among students.
- Support experiential learning through projects, demonstrations,



and group activities.

Technical Training Areas The trainer will facilitate activities related to: Engineering & Mechanical Basics
- Learning basic engineering skills
- Making toys using easy machines
- Working with PVC pipes
- Bicycle maintenance and repair
- School furniture repair

Wood & Bamboo Work
- Woodworking basics
- Bamboo craft and applications
- Tool handling and material usage

Construction & Civil Works
- Basics of construction
- Use of construction materials and tools
- Mortar preparation, plastering, and curing
- Basic masonry concepts
- RCC and ferrocement structures
- Building maintenance, painting, and repair

Electrical & Electronics
- Electrical safety and fundamentals
- Simple electrical circuits
- Torch, lighting, and earthing demonstrations
- Electronics projects
- Arduino-based activities
- Solar cooker and solar PV module demonstrations

Digital Making & Design
- Basics of Scratch programming
- Flowchart development
- Tinkercad and introductory design software
- Digital drawing and documentation
- Introduction to mobile and computer applications

Student Engagement & Mentoring
- Motivate students to participate actively in practical activities.
- Support students in project development and completion.
- Provide mentorship during competitions, exhibitions, and demonstrations.
- Foster teamwork, innovation, and creative thinking.

Safety & Lab Management
- Ensure safe usage of tools, equipment, and workshop materials.
- Maintain workshop inventory and training materials.




- Follow all school and project safety protocols.
- Report equipment requirements and maintenance needs.

Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain attendance and activity records.
- Document student projects and learning outcomes.
- Submit regular reports, photographs, and updates to the project team.
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities.

Required Qualifications
- ITI, Diploma, Graduate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electronics, Vocational Education, Engineering, or related fields.
- Candidates with hands-on technical skills and training experience will be preferred.

Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in training, teaching, vocational education, technical instruction, STEM education, maker-space facilitation, or related fields.
- Fresh candidates with strong practical skills and teaching aptitude may also apply.

Required Skills ✔ Fluency in Gujarati (mandatory)

✔ Ability to explain technical concepts to school students

✔ Hands-on experience with tools, machines, and materials

✔ Good classroom and student management skills

✔ Strong communication and facilitation abilities

✔ Basic computer skills

✔ Passion for experiential and project-based learning

✔ Willingness to travel locally within the project area
