About the Role
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will be at the heart of designing and delivering robust, enterprise-grade applications that power Swiss Re's Life & Health Reinsurance business. You'll collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Architects across global teams to craft solutions that are not only technically sound but strategically aligned with business goals. This is a role where your engineering depth, your curiosity, and your ability to lead will all be put to work — every single day.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement end-to-end application and product lifecycle solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across enterprise systems





Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Architects to translate business requirements into pragmatic, future-proof technical designs

Assess and manage technical risk, prioritize non-functional requirements, and champion engineering best practices across the team

Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence

Drive cloud-native development on platforms such as Azure, contributing to the evolution of contemporary, microservices-based architectures

Contribute to AI-driven development practices, leveraging frontier AI models to enhance the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and product delivery

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth, automated delivery of high-quality software using tools like Maven and Git
