Role Summary:

Lead application maintenance and defect resolution for HMH's core Java/J2EE enterprise platforms, owning technical decisions, release coordination, and continuous platform improvements.

Key (non-negotiable) : Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring AOP, Apache CXF, ActiveMQ, Oracle, MySQL, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Jenkins, Maven

Key Responsibilities

- Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions for complex production incidents and Java/J2EE application defects.
- Own the health and reliability of build and release pipelines using Jenkins and Maven for core platform applications.
- Design and implement application enhancements, patches, and performance improvements using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring AOP.
- Drive architecture-level decisions for application modernization, enhancements,



and production support.
- Review code, enforce development standards, and ensure high-quality releases.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to development and support engineers.
- Oversee Apache CXF-based web services and ActiveMQ messaging integrations.
- Optimize Oracle and MySQL database interactions and application performance.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and Business teams to ensure timely and stable production releases.
- Participate in release planning, production deployments, and post-release validation.

Required Skills

- Strong expertise in Java/J2EE application development, maintenance, and production support.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring AOP.
- Experience developing and maintaining services using Apache CXF.
- Strong knowledge of ActiveMQ messaging systems.
- Expertise in Oracle and MySQL with advanced SQL and database optimization skills.
- Experience managing Apache Tomcat and Nginx environments.
- Strong experience with Jenkins and Maven for CI/CD and release management.
- Proven experience leading root cause analysis, defect resolution, and production support activities.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, application performance tuning, and system reliability.
- Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and driving technical best practices.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
