Junior Design Engineer

Experience: 0–3 years (Freshers welcome to apply)

Location: Nagercoil (Hybrid) | Occasional site visits possible

About the Role

We're looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join our structural and design engineering team. The role is focused on the engineering side of offshore and marine projects — analysis, calculations, and design development — working under senior engineers on structures ranging from floating and fixed platforms to FPSOs, FSOs, FSRUs, and other vessel types. It's a robust starting point for building core structural engineering fundamentals across a wide range of project types rather than specializing narrowly early on.

What You'll Do

Support structural and design engineering activities for offshore and marine projects under the guidance of senior engineers

Assist with structural analysis, calculations, and design checks (e.g., strength, stability, fatigue as applicable)

Prepare and review technical documentation, design basis reports, and calculation notes

Coordinate with design/drafting teams to ensure engineering intent is correctly translated into drawings

Interface with classification society requirements and project specifications as part of the design process

Participate in design reviews and support query resolution with clients or class societies

Be available for occasional site visits/deployment as project needs require

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

0–3 years of relevant experience — strong freshers with solid fundamentals are encouraged to apply

Working knowledge of structural engineering principles; familiarity with offshore/marine codes (DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, API) is a plus but not mandatory for freshers

Exposure to design/analysis software (STAAD.Pro, SACS, ANSYS, or similar) is an advantage

Willingness to travel/relocate temporarily for site assignments if required

Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn

Good communication skills — written and verbal
