Role Description The Junior Accountant will support the finance team with daily accounting operations in a full-time, on-site role based in Amritsar.

Responsibilities include recording financial transactions, preparing and maintaining ledgers, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements. The role also involves supporting monthly and annual closing activities, helping prepare basic financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards.

Accountant will collaborate with colleagues in finance and other departments to provide accurate financial information and support smooth business operations.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in basic accounting principles, including ledger maintenance, journal entries, and bank reconciliation.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, data entry, and financial reporting tools).
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work on-site in Amritsar, collaborate in a team environment, and maintain professional integrity and confidentiality.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; internship or 0–2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and export-related documentation in a food or FMCG environment is an advantage.
