Position: Junior Project Manager – Civil
Department: Projects / Construction
Reporting To: Project Manager / Senior Project Manager
Location: Project Site / Head Office
Job Summary The Junior Project Manager (Civil) is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in planning, executing, monitoring, and successfully completing civil construction projects within the approved time, quality, safety, and budget parameters. The role requires coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Execution
- Assist in planning and execution of civil construction activities.
- Monitor daily site progress and ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure timely availability of manpower, materials, machinery, and resources.
- Resolve day-to-day site execution issues.
1. Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare weekly and monthly work schedules.
- Track project milestones and identify delays.
- Coordinate with planning teams to achieve project timelines.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
1. Quality Control
- Ensure execution complies with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular quality inspections.
- Coordinate material testing and quality documentation.
- Monitor NCRs and corrective actions.
1. Billing & Documentation
- Prepare and verify measurement books (MB).
- Assist in preparation of RA Bills and client billing.
- Verify subcontractor bills.
- Maintain project documentation including:
- Drawings
- BOQs
- Work Orders
- DPR
- Inspection reports
- Material records
1. Client & Consultant Coordination
- Attend project review meetings.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, and PMC.
- Prepare MOM (Minutes of Meeting).
- Ensure timely closure of client observations.
1. Procurement Coordination
- Raise material indents.
- Coordinate procurement and delivery schedules.
- Monitor material consumption.
- Reduce wastage and improve productivity.
1. Cost Control
- Monitor project costs against budget.
- Prepare quantity reconciliation.
- Track material and labour productivity.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
1. Safety Management
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Promote secure work practices.
- Coordinate toolbox talks and safety inspections.
- Report and investigate incidents.
1. Team Management
- Supervise Site Engineers and Supervisors.
- Monitor labour productivity.
- Allocate daily work targets.
- Support training and development of junior staff.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- Diploma in Civil Engineering (with relevant experience may be considered)
Experience
- 2–5 years in building, industrial, infrastructure, commercial, or residential construction projects.
