- Responsibilities
- Advanced Monitoring & Event Management

- • Own monitoring quality and standards, leading alert-noise reduction and event correlation across the estate.

- • Govern SiteScope / OBM onboarding and coverage, ensuring new servers and applications are monitored correctly and consistently.

- • Act as a senior point of reference for complex alert triage and monitoring configuration.

- Major Incident Coordination
- • Coordinate major incidents, driving resolver groups, chairing bridges where required, and maintaining clear communication to stakeholders.

- • Produce accurate incident and post-incident (PIR) timelines, and interface with IT Service Management and Incident Management.

- • Identify recurring problems and operational risks, feeding into problem management and continuous improvement.

- Automation & Continuous Improvement

- • Design and deliver automation to reduce manual, checklist-type tasks and free capacity for higher-value work.

- • Build operational analytics and reporting, and champion AIOps and approved AI adoption across the team.

- • Continue the automation of monitoring and alerting to reduce manual overheads.

- Leadership & Mentoring

- • Coach and mentor Junior IT COps and IT COps on platform knowledge, evidence quality, stakeholder communication and safe delivery.

- • Set and uphold operational standards and runbook quality, and deputise for the Lead as required.

- • Support governance routines, controls testing and service reporting.

- General
- • Be alert to Conduct Risk and keep up to date with relevant regulations and controls.





- • Own and improve knowledge management (Confluence) and onboarding / training materials for the team.

- Qualifications

- Experience Level

experience in IT operations, command-centre / NOC, monitoring, infrastructure or incident management, including some senior or lead responsibility.

- Skills / Experience Required

- You will bring:
- • Advanced Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.

- • Advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting.

- • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, routing and packet-level diagnostics).

- • A strong understanding of monitoring architecture and tooling (OBM, SiteScope, PagerDuty, Dynatrace, SCOM or equivalents).

- • Strong ITIL incident, problem and major-incident management experience.

- • Proven scripting and automation ability (PowerShell,



Python or Bash) with a delivery track record.

- • The ability to mentor and set standards, and a commitment to fixed early / late shift cover.

- Beneficial Skills / Experience
- It would also help if you have:

- • ITIL Intermediate / Practitioner (or higher) certification.

- • Experience with AIOps, observability platforms and event correlation.

- • Cloud, database or middleware awareness, and DR leadership experience.

- • Experience improving operational processes and reducing manual toil at scale.

- Systems / Tools Exposure
- • You’ll be a senior user and configurer of enterprise monitoring / event-management platforms and PagerDuty.

- • You’ll drive standards in the ITSM system (Provance), runbooks and the knowledge base (Confluence).

- • You’ll work daily with Microsoft 365 and a range of approved AI and automation tools.

- A degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. ITIL certification is expected or highly desirable; monitoring, cloud or automation certifications are advantageous.
