Job Title: India Country Head

Location: Vadodara, India

What you'll do

We are looking for an India Country Head to own and grow our India operations. You will be the senior point of contact for everything India: HR, finance, compliance, hiring, and day-to-day execution.

You report directly to the Head of Asia and are responsible for building a high-performing, compliant, and scalable India entity .

Responsibilities

- Own day-to-day operations of both India office locations and ensure full alignment with leadership on priorities and execution.
- Lead the local HR and hiring function manage the HR team, oversee the full hiring cycle from sourcing to onboarding, and ensure processes are followed and documented.
- Manage India finance and statutory compliance — coordinate with the chartered accountant and company secretary, oversee payroll, approve payments, and ensure all filings are completed on time.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external partners including auditing firms, legal counsel, and business consultants.
- Build, document, and continuously improve SOPs across all functions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early, work through ambiguity, and find practical solutions without escalating everything up the chain.




- Travel regularly between Bangalore and Vadodara to support both offices and build team cohesion.

Requirements

- 5+ years of US work experience, preferably in operations or general management
- US education background, preferably in engineering or a technical field — this is an engineering support office and understanding the work your team does matters.
- Proven experience managing a team and working cross-functionally with US and China based leadership across time zones.
- Solid understanding of Indian statutory requirements — PF, ESIC, TDS, GST, Companies Act.
- High ownership mentality with the ability to operate without a detailed playbook.
- A proven track record of operating with integrity in high-trust environments is required.
- Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.

This role operates at the intersection of HR, finance, legal, and leadership — discretion and confidentiality are non-negotiable. You will handle sensitive information on a daily basis and are expected to exercise sound judgment on what gets shared, with whom, and when.

Bonus points

Experience in manufacturing, energy, or engineering. Prior experience setting up or scaling an India entity for a foreign-owned company. Experience working in a scale-up or high-growth environment where processes are built from scratch.
