About the Role -

We are looking for an experienced IFRS / Technical Accounting professional to join our team and manage complex accounting activities with a strong focus on Pension Accounting, IFRS/US GAAP, Accounting Policies, and Consolidated Reporting .

The role will work closely with internal finance teams, pension specialists, actuaries, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant, and high-quality financial reporting and accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities -

- Manage and analyze monthly pension accounting activities in collaboration with the Pension Controller.
- Coordinate with external actuaries on pension reporting and actuarial data requirements.
- Support preparation of annual pension disclosure notes .
- Develop, maintain, and update the AkzoNobel Accounting Manual and accounting policies.
- Assess and implement new IFRS standards and relevant accounting treatments.
- Manage and maintain the Standard Chart of Accounts (SCoA) .
- Review finance income and expenses at a consolidated level.
- Support accounting and reporting activities related to pension and technical accounting .
- Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Pension, and other corporate stakeholders.




- Ensure high standards of accuracy, compliance, risk management, and financial reporting .

What We're Looking For -

- 8–10 years of experience in Accounting / Technical Accounting / Financial Reporting.
- Strong expertise in IFRS and/or US GAAP .
- Prefer experience in Pension Accounting , with knowledge of IAS 19 and/or ASC 712/715 .
- Strong background in accounting and financial reporting .
- Experience in accounting policies, technical accounting, or accounting manual maintenance is preferred.
- Knowledge of consolidation and group reporting is an advantage.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage complex accounting matters, and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a risk-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across Finance and other corporate functions.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline , or equivalent professional experience.
