What You'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Principal Financial Group, you will be at the forefront of crafting innovative and high-performance software solutions. Your role will involve crafting, developing, and implementing software that drives our products. You will work in close collaboration with our product development team to understand user needs and translate them into flawless technical specifications. Ensuring our software products are scalable, reliable, and productive will be key to your success.
You'll have opportunity to:
Build and maintain Drupal applications (Front-End & Back-End) for public-facing websites.
Leverage AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot to develop clean, maintainable, and secure code adhering to coding standards and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in development and production environments
Work as an expert on one or more applications/functionality to provide required support to business users
Deliver work with minimum follow-ups and zero defects, developing automated testing




Resolve queries/issues and provide Application/functional support to peers & juniors
Follow established project execution processes
Participate in regular scrum ceremonies like standup, grooming, and retrospectives
Report status updates as required by the project
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business collaborators
Build holistic understanding of applications & underlying domain being supported
Provide permanent resolutions to recurring issues.
Document problem resolutions and new findings for future use, updating SOPs
Knowledge sharing
Help onboard and train new team members

Qualifications

Who You are:
Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Drupal to develop, test and maintain applications with established processes while building holistic understanding of the underlying applications and domain
Experience: 4 to 7 years
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent exp
