Position Summary Global Institute of Business Studies (GIBS Business School) is seeking a highly accomplished academic professional for the role of Head – Research and Professional Consultancy to lead the institution’s research initiatives, consultancy projects, academic collaborations, and knowledge-driven activities.

The ideal candidate should possess strong teaching expertise, a proven research background, publications in reputed journals, and experience in handling professional consultancy assignments with industry and institutions. The role requires driving a research culture within the institution while bridging academia and industry through consultancy, innovation, and team-oriented projects.

The candidate will also contribute to teaching, faculty mentoring, student research guidance, journal publications, and institutional development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Research Leadership

- Lead and strengthen the research ecosystem within the institution.
- Promote high-quality research publications in reputed national and international journals.
- Encourage interdisciplinary research, innovation, case study development, and funded projects.
- Guide faculty members and students in research methodology, publication processes, and project development.
- Identify and apply for research grants, sponsored projects, and funding opportunities.

Conferences, FDPs & Research Activities

- Conduct and organize National and International Research Conferences, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Research Symposiums, seminars, workshops, and academic conclaves.
- Coordinate research-oriented academic events and collaborative knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Develop partnerships with research institutions, universities,



and industry experts for academic and research activities.

Journal Publication & Research Development

- Revive, manage, and publish the in-house GIBS Business School Research Journal and Case Study Journal.
- Oversee journal editorial processes, article reviews, publication standards, and research documentation.
- Encourage faculty and students to contribute research papers, articles, and case studies for publication.

Professional Consultancy

- Develop and manage consultancy projects with corporates, industries, government organizations, and institutions.
- Build industry collaborations for consultancy assignments, research projects, and executive development programs.
- Provide strategic guidance and professional consultancy in relevant academic and industry domains.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing initiatives between academia and industry.

Academic & Teaching Responsibilities

- Teach management and allied subjects as per institutional requirements.
- Conduct workshops, guest lectures, MDPs, and academic sessions.
- Mentor students in academic projects, dissertations, internships, and research activities.
- Support curriculum enhancement with research-oriented and industry-focused practices.

Institutional Development

- Establish research centers, incubation initiatives, and collaborative academic platforms.
- Coordinate conferences, research symposiums, journals, and publication activities.
- Contribute to accreditation, ranking, and quality assurance initiatives related to research and academic excellence.





Faculty & Student Development

- Train and mentor faculty members for research publications, patents, consultancy, and innovation initiatives.
- Encourage students to participate in research competitions, conferences, and publication activities.
- Foster a culture of analytical thinking, innovation, and academic excellence.

Reporting & Administration

- Prepare research reports, consultancy performance reports, publication records, and strategic plans.
- Maintain documentation related to research activities, grants, consultancy projects, journals, and academic collaborations.

Qualifications

- PhD in Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong academic background with teaching experience in Higher Education Institutions / Business Schools.
- Minimum 8–15 years of experience in teaching, research, publications, and professional consultancy.
- Proven track record of research publications in reputed journals, conference presentations, and consultancy assignments.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Academician with a strong blend of teaching, research, journal management, and industry consultancy experience.
- Experience in organizing conferences, FDPs, symposiums, and academic research events.
- Exposure to funded research projects, consultancy assignments, and journal publication processes will be an added advantage.
