Job Summary
Payroll Tax Rep III – Amendments (Level 3) is responsible for the preparation, generation, and filing of federal, state, and local amended payroll tax returns. This role serves as a subject matter expert for tax amendments and works closely with internal teams and agencies to ensure accurate corrections, timely filings, and resolution of tax discrepancies. The role requires solid technical payroll tax knowledge, attention to detail,
and the ability to manage complex amendment cases through resolution.
Payroll Tax Rep III role has tax knowledge and requires the ability to interact with tax agencies, manage case portfolios, and contribute to timely resolution while meeting service level agreements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare, generate, and file amended federal, state, and local payroll tax returns, including but not limited to Forms 941 X, state withholding amendments, SUI amendments, and local tax corrections.
• Monitor amended filings through agency processing and follow up as needed to confirm acceptance and posting.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations while maintaining up to date knowledge of tax law changes.
• Identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement related to payroll tax amendments and filing accuracy.
