Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of MEP Design to lead our MEP design team for commercial interior fit-out projects. The role is responsible for overseeing the complete Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design process, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions, compliance with industry standards, effective multidisciplinary coordination, and timely project delivery. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, manage design resources, and collaborate closely with clients, consultants, project managers, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the MEP design team of 6-10 members for commercial interior fit-out projects, including offices, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and mixed-use developments.

- Oversee the design and development of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, ELV, and other MEP systems.

- Review and approve design concepts, calculations, layouts, schematics, shop drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation.

- Ensure all MEP designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including ASHRAE, IS Codes, NBC, local authority regulations, and client specifications.

- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, interior designers, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP services.

- Conduct design reviews, value engineering, and cost optimization while maintaining quality and functionality.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design engineers and drafting teams.

- Support procurement by reviewing equipment specifications, technical submittals, and vendor proposals.





- Work closely with site execution teams to resolve technical issues, approve design revisions, and ensure smooth project implementation.

- Attend client, consultant, and coordination meetings, presenting technical solutions and addressing project requirements.

- Monitor design schedules, resource allocation, and project milestones to ensure timely delivery.

- Drive continuous improvement in design processes, standards, and engineering best practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

- BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.

- 810 years of experience in MEP design, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

- Extensive experience in commercial interior fit-out and MEP projects.

- Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and ELV systems.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.

- Experience with HVAC design software such as HAP or equivalent.

- Strong understanding of MEP coordination, design management, and site execution.

- Excellent project management, communication, and documentation skills.

- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver projects within tight timelines.
