Hardware Engineer / Instrumentation engineer

Field Service

- Install, commission, and demonstrate equipment at customer sites.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and breakdown servicing.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Calibrate, test, and verify equipment performance.
- Train customers on the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Prepare and submit service reports after each visit.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Customer Support

- Respond promptly to customer service requests and complaints.
- Provide technical support over phone, email, or remote assistance.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with customers for service schedules and follow-ups.

Back-Office Responsibilities

- Prepare service reports, inspection reports, and calibration certificates.
- Update service records, customer databases, and CRM/software.
- Coordinate spare parts requirements with the sales and stores teams.
- Prepare quotations for spare parts, repairs, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).
- Maintain service schedules and warranty records.
- Process service calls, work orders, and documentation.
- Follow up on pending service calls and customer feedback.

Inventory & Coordination





- Maintain records of service tools and instruments.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and raise purchase requests when required.
- Coordinate with logistics for dispatch and receipt of spare parts.

Reporting

- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly service activity reports.
- Report recurring technical issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist the sales team with technical support during customer visits when required.

Skills Required

- Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Valuable troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with ERP/CRM software is preferred.
- Willingness to travel for customer visits.
- Ability to manage both field service and office documentation efficiently.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: ITI / Diploma Electronics or BE/B.Tech in Electronics / EC or Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation / BSC or MSC Electronic or physics.
- Experience: 2-3 years in chip-level/component-level repair of industrial electronics.
- Core Competencies:
- Expert at reading Schematic Diagrams and PCB layouts.
- Hands-on mastery of SMD rework stations and precision soldering tools.
- Deep understanding of Power Supply units (SMPS), Analog-to-Digital conversion, and MCU-based circuits.
- Knowledge of communication ICs (MAX232, RS485 transceivers).
