As a Service Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) at INGSOL, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of advanced manufacturing machinery. This role is critical in ensuring optimal machine performance, minimizing downtime, and delivering high-quality technical support to clients. The position requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, hands-on field experience, and the ability to work independently at customer sites in India and abroad. 1.
Machine
Installation & Commissioning - Perform installation, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of German manufacturing machinery at customer locations.

Field Service
Management - Plan, coordinate, and execute on-site service visits, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and timely communication with clients in India and overseas.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting - Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, and ensure minimal machine downtime.

Performance
Optimization - Identify opportunities for performance improvement and implement necessary mechanical, electrical, or parameter adjustments to enhance machine efficiency and reliability.

Industrial Automation
Support - Apply basic knowledge of industrial automation systems (PLCs, sensors, drives, etc.) to support troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
- Tool & Safety Compliance - Use service tools, instruments, and equipment safely and effectively, ensuring strict adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.

Interaction & Support - Maintain professional communication with clients to understand requirements, resolve technical issues, and provide operational guidance and training when required.
- Documentation & Reporting - Prepare service reports, maintenance records, and feedback documents after service visits and ensure proper documentation is maintained. Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications-
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively (India & Abroad).
- Good communication and client-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently/with team in field conditions. What you know as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.
Mechanical Knowledge
- Basic mechanical components knowledge. (bearings, shafts, couplings, belts, gears, fasteners)
- Assembly & disassembly basic understanding.
- Machine alignment & lubrication basics.
- Reading of basic mechanical drawings.
- Preventive maintenance concept.
Electrical Knowledge
- Electrical basics (AC/DC, voltage, current) & Control panel basics.
- Sensors (proximity, limit switch, photo sensor) & Motors (single phase / three phase – basic idea)
- Reading basic electrical wiring diagrams.
- Basic working concepts of PLC-controlled machinery
- Why production pressure must be managed, not blindly followed.
Industrial Automation (IIoT)
- PLC and its basic logic concept
- Basic understanding of HMI
- Awareness of Drives / VFDs
- Knowledge of input–output signals (DI / DO)
Tools & Safety Knowledge
- Use of common service tools (spanner, allen key, screwdriver, tester, torque wrench – basic)
