We are Looking For !
- 8–15 years in FMCG/beauty & personal care/cosmetics, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role (Regional Manager, Sales & Marketing Head, or GM)
- Proven P&L; ownership — not just sales, but managing budgets, margins, and overall business performance
- Experience with distribution networks — general trade, contemporary trade (supermarkets), and D2C/e-commerce, since cosmetics in Kerala sell through all three
- prior experience with a Kerala-based or South India-focused brand, since local market knowledge (Onam/festival demand cycles, local competitors like local Ayurvedic cosmetic brands, language/culture nuances) matters a lot
Digital marketing competencies to screen for
- Hands-on or strategic oversight of Instagram/Facebook ads, influencer marketing (this is huge for cosmetics — Kerala has a strong regional influencer/beauty vlogger scene)
- E-commerce management — Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa listings, or running their own D2C website
- Basic understanding of performance marketing metrics (CAC, ROAS, conversion rates) even if they're not personally running the campaigns
- Marketplace/quick-commerce experience (Blinkit, Zepto etc.) is increasingly relevant for cosmetics
Functional skills
- Team management (sales team, distributors, marketing agency coordination)
- Vendor/manufacturer coordination if the business also handles production or private labeling
- Basic finance literacy — inventory costing, margins, GST compliance
Education
- MBA (Marketing/Sales) preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong
- A mix of "traditional trade" background + digital exposure is ideal — pure digital marketers often lack distribution/trade experience, and pure trade veterans often lack digital fluency
