Production & Operations Management
Achieve Production Targets: Plan, organize, and monitor the forging schedule to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production volume and efficiency targets.
Process Oversight: Supervise and coordinate the forging process, including material handling, heating (e.g., induction heating), die setting, press operation, and post-forging operations.
Workflow Optimization: Manage and adjust the workflow by assigning tasks, preparing schedules, and ensuring smooth transition and handover between shifts.
Equipment Management: Oversee the safe operation and setup of forging machinery (Presses, IBH, rolling , Trimming equipment), coordinate with the Maintenance department for timely repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Resource Allocation: Monitor and control the consumption of raw materials, Die/ tools, and consumables, ensuring adequate stock is available to support the production schedule.
Quality and Continuous Improvement
Quality Control: Enforce strict adherence to product specifications, quality standards (e.g., ISO/IATF), and production norms.
Defect Resolution: Monitor production output, identify forging defects, investigate root causes of quality issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions in coordination with the Quality and Engineering teams.
Tooling Management:
Coordinate with the Die Shop for die maintenance, repair, and new Die development to maximize output and ensure product quality.
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, SMED and Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize processes, improve material yield, and reduce cost and waste.
Safety and Compliance
Safety Enforcement: Champion a safe work setting by enforcing all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA/regulatory requirements.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct regular safety audits, lead workplace hazard assessments (JHA), and ensure all personnel use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Accident Investigation: Promptly investigate any accidents or incidents, implement corrective measures, and maintain safety records.
Talent & Organization Development
Supervision and Coaching: Lead, coach, and motivate the production team (operators, machine setters) to achieve performance and safety goals.
Training: Conduct and coordinate on-the-job training for new and existing employees on forging processes, equipment operation, safety protocols, and quality procedures.
Performance Management: Evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, manage shifts and rosters, and resolve personnel issues or conflicts promptly.
