About MIRAI MIRAI is an emerging consumer wellness brand developing science-led nutrition products designed for convenience and everyday use.

We are currently in the product development stage and are working with experienced professionals to develop our first product range from concept through formulation, testing and scale-up.

About the Role We are looking for a Food Technologist / Product Development Consultant who can take an early-stage product concept and translate it into a commercially viable formulation.

The role will involve working closely with the founder across the product development process, including formulation trials, ingredient selection, sensory evaluation, stability considerations, revisions, documentation and coordination with manufacturing partners.

This is an opportunity to work closely with an early-stage consumer brand and have meaningful ownership over the technical development of its first products.

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate ingredient compatibility, solubility, sensory profile, stability and processing requirements during formulation development.
- Develop and iterate formulations based on defined product requirements.
- Recommend suitable ingredients, functional components, flavours, sweetening systems and processing approaches.
- Conduct and document formulation trials, testing and revisions.
- Evaluate taste, texture, solubility, stability and overall product performance where applicable.
- Develop prototypes and refine formulations based on sensory feedback.
- Prepare formulation specifications and technical documentation.
- Advise on appropriate manufacturing processes and scale-up requirements.
- Coordinate with contract manufacturers, laboratories and other technical partners where required.
- Support shelf-life and stability testing.
- Identify potential formulation,



quality and manufacturing challenges early in the development process.
- Ensure formulations are developed with applicable food safety, regulatory and labelling requirements in mind.

What We're Looking For

- Hands-on experience developing and commercialising consumer food or nutrition products, from bench-top formulation through pilot trials and scale-up.
- Experience working with powdered, dry-mix, instant, beverage, functional nutrition or similar formulations is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Chemistry, Nutrition or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in food product formulation and product development.
- Robust understanding of food ingredients, formulation principles and processing.
- Experience with functional foods, nutrition products, beverages, powdered products, supplements or similar consumer products is highly desirable.
- Experience with sensory evaluation and product testing.
- Understanding of food safety, stability, shelf-life and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and take a formulation from initial trials toward a manufacturable product.
- Strong documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Experience taking formulations from laboratory/bench trials through pilot production and commercial manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers or external laboratories is a plus.

Engagement Initially structured as a consulting/freelance engagement, with the possibility of continued involvement through pilot production and commercialisation.

The exact scope, timeline and remuneration will be discussed with shortlisted candidates based on experience and project requirements.

Work Arrangement

Flexible / Hybrid. The role will primarily involve remote collaboration, with occasional in-person meetings, product trials and visits to laboratories or manufacturing facilities as required.
