Role Description The Fellow – Legal Procedures | Public Policy | Constitution of India & People's Representation Act role is an internship position with a remote work arrangement. The fellow will support legal and policy research related to the Constitution of India, the People’s Representation Act, and associated legal procedures, with a focus on democratic processes and governance. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing legal texts and policy documents, preparing structured legal notes and drafts,



assisting in the development of policy briefs and advisory materials, and contributing to analysis of electoral and governance frameworks.

The fellow will collaborate with senior consultants and researchers, participate in internal discussions, and help translate legal and policy insights into explicit, accessible content for stakeholders. The role may also involve assisting in documentation for government advisory projects, compiling case studies, and maintaining organized records of legal and research materials.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Law with specific interest in constitutional law, election law, and public policy.

Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret legal texts, policies, and governance frameworks.

Ability in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting notes, briefs, and structured summaries.

Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Proficient Research skills for legal, policy, and governance-related topics, including use of primary and secondary sources.

Enrollment in or completion of a law, public policy, political science, or related program is preferred.

Demonstrated interest in democracy, governance, and development in the Indian context.

Capacity to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.

Familiarity with legislative processes, judicial decisions, and regulatory frameworks in India is an advantage.

Ethical mindset, non-partisan approach, and commitment to inclusive and impact-driven work.
