Encompass Loan Business Analyst

Job Summary The Encompass Loan Business Analyst serves as the bridge between mortgage operations and technology, supporting and optimizing the Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS). This role gathers business requirements, analyzes workflows, and translates operational needs into system configurations, automation, and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate combines mortgage industry knowledge with strong analytical and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Business Analysis &

Requirements Gathering

Partner with Operations, Underwriting, Processing, Compliance, and Secondary teams to gather and document business requirements.

- Analyze current-state workflows and identify process improvement opportunities.

- Create functional specifications for system enhancements and configurations.

- Translate business needs into Encompass requirements and automation rules.

- System Configuration & Support

Configure business rules, custom fields, input forms, milestones, personas, and workflows within Encompass.

- Assist in testing system updates, enhancements, and integrations.

- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and manage defect resolution.

- Collaborate with the Encompass Product Manager and Encompass administrators on deployments.

- Vendor & Integration Support





Assist with implementation and maintenance of third-party integrations (AUS, credit vendors, compliance engines, document providers).

- Validate data mapping and workflow alignment during integrations.

- Documentation & Communication

Maintain process documentation, system configuration guides, and training materials.

- Communicate system changes and enhancements to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

- Mortgage industry experience (processing, underwriting, closing, or LOS support).

- Hands-on experience working with Encompass.

- Strong understanding of the full mortgage lifecycle (origination through funding).

- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.

- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

- Experience configuring Encompass business rules and custom forms.

- Knowledge of reporting tools

- Experience with Agile methodologies or project management tools.
