Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean.

India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. We have an open position in the Hardware group. The Hardware group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam’s product lines, providing innovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliability.
In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical & electronics engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supplier quality engineers contribute to designing and improving Lam’s products. This role is for an electrical engineer reporting to the mechatronics team and working on the firmware development & test for robotic applications.
Who we’re looking for
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (EE, ECE, or related disciplines).
5–8 years of experience in firmware design & development prior experience with circuit design, PCB layout.
Primary Responsibilities
Designs & Develops embedded systems for robotic applications.
Develops firmware for
Robotics and mechanisms using C-like language
Microcontroller (ARM Cortex-based) embedded to wireless device systems
Creates electrical schematics and PCB layouts based on requirements received from cross-disciplinary teams
Brings -up boards and carries out firmware testing at board level / product level
Works with cross-functional team in projects
Determine wafer handling or embedded product specifications
Create functional specification document
Managing the product configurations
Mandatory Skills Required
Work experience in microcontroller (ARM Cortex based)
or embedded device programming
Demonstrate strong fundamental coding in C/C++ and Data Structures
Working level understanding of OS and RTOS Fundamental knowledge of electronic circuit design, ADC and embedded devices communication (SPI, I2C, UART)
Design and perform unit test of functionalities
Experience with wireless and Bluetooth implementation on embedded devices
Debugging skills using: JTAG, SWD, Logic Analyzer, DSO, DMM Experience with Board Design, Electronics Circuits including microcontroller/FPGA based designs, sensor interfaces, analog signal conditioning circuits, power supplies, ethernet based communication interfaces, Wireless Interfaces, Wireless Chargers etc.
Experience in working with cross-disciplinary teams (including mechanical, electro-mechanical, software, process, manufacturing engineers) for major projects with multi-national work setting.
Desirable Skills
Hands-on experience with mechanisms and simple robotic or actuators
Knowledge of LUA, Verilog would be an added advantage
Device driver development
Excellent communicator, strong leadership skill, desired to innovate, independent and thrive in fast-paced environment
Actively contribute to embedded system design (from functional to system block diagram)
Using microcontroller (or any other functional block) OEM development kit for C&F;
Experience in working with cross-disciplinary teams (including mechanical, electro-mechanical, software, process, manufacturing engineers)
for major projects with multi-national work environment.
Good understanding of different standards and compliances like – SEMI Standards (F47 etc.)

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
