Design Manager- Electrical High Voltage (Renewable Energy) Location: Hyderabad

Industry: Renewable Energy / Power Infrastructure About the Role: We are looking for passionate and technically sound Electrical Design Engineers with a robust foundation in Basic Electrical Engineering and hands-on experience in designing medium- and high-voltage electrical systems (11kV to 220kV and above). This is a core engineering role ideally suited for professionals looking to apply their skills in the growing Renewable Energy sector, particularly in Solar Power Plant design and execution.

Key Responsibilities: Electrical System Design (11kV220kV and above):

Design of substation single-line diagrams (SLDs), bus schemes, switchyard layouts, and earthing systems.

Electrical load flow studies, fault level calculation, equipment sizing, and interconnection schemes.

Protection Systems

Design of HT and LT panel schemes, including relay coordination and selection of protection devices (overcurrent, earth fault, differential, etc.).

Preparation of control and protection logic, schematic diagrams, interlocking schemes, and panel GA drawings.

Transformer Design Understanding

Working knowledge of power transformer sizing, vector group selection, impedance, cooling type, and loss analysis.

Evaluation of transformer data sheets and technical specifications.

Cable Engineering

Voltage drop calculations, cable derating factors, and cable loss analysis across HT and LT networks.





Cable sizing and routing design for underground and overhead layouts in power plant applications.

(Bonus) Solar PV Design Exposure:

Experience with inverter selection, string sizing, DC cable layouts, and grid integration is a plus.

Familiarity with SCADA, monitoring systems, and SLDC interfacing is desirable.

Qualifications & Skills:

B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.

9-12 years of relevant experience in electrical system design for utility-scale power projects.

Proficient in AutoCAD, ETAP/PowerWorld/Digsilent, and Microsoft Excel.

Deep understanding of Indian grid codes (CEA regulations), IS/IEC standards, and DISCOM interconnection guidelines.

Strong analytical and engineering fundamentals.
