? Help build the finance function for Script Assist’s next stage of growth

Script Assist is creating a new Deputy Head of Finance role to add significant senior capacity as we continue to grow, expand internationally and develop into a multi-entity healthcare technology business.

You will work alongside our existing finance leadership , CEO, management team and external advisers, taking substantial responsibility across:

- Financial control
- Accounting operations
- Month-end and year-end
- Management and board reporting
- Statutory accounts, tax and audit
- Finance-team performance
- International and multi-entity finance
- Finance systems and automation
- Process improvement and scalability

This is a broad, senior and hands-on finance role. It is intended for someone who has already operated as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, Group Financial Controller or equivalent senior finance leader and understands how to run a complete finance and accounting operation.

It is not primarily an FP&A;, commercial-finance or finance-business-partnering position.

You must understand the underlying books, controls and accounting detail—not merely analyse or present financial results.

? About Script Assist

Script Assist is building the operating system for next-generation private healthcare in the UK.

Our software is used by clinics, pharmacies and healthcare operators and already supports tens of thousands of medical cannabis prescriptions every month .

We are expanding into additional private healthcare markets, including:

- ADHD
- Weight management
- Longevity
- Specialist private medicine
- Other complex healthcare categories

We are also preparing for international growth across multiple markets and legal entities. As the business scales, we need a finance function that is:
- Accurate and well controlled
- Capable of closing reliably and on time
- Supported by high-quality management information
- Internationally scalable
- Properly documented
- Efficient and increasingly automated
- Able to support confident decision-making

? The role You will serve as a senior deputy within the finance function, working closely with the existing finance leadership and CEO.

You will help ensure that:

- The underlying books are complete and accurate
- Month-end and year-end close properly and on time
- Balance-sheet accounts are fully reconciled

- The finance function can support international growth

You must be comfortable moving between:

Senior finance leadership

Working with the CEO and management team, improving reporting, supporting decisions and developing the finance operating model.

Detailed financial control

Reviewing reconciliations, investigating balances, challenging incomplete explanations and ensuring that underlying accounting work is correct.

This is not a role where the detail is always somebody else’s responsibility.

You will take substantial responsibility across:

- Monthly and annual close
- Management accounts

- P&L; review
- Balance-sheet review
- Balance-sheet reconciliations

- Cash management
- Payroll coordination
- Employee expenses
- Supplier and customer accounts
- Bookkeeping quality
- Chart-of-accounts discipline

You will help lead and coordinate:

- Statutory accounts
- External audit
- Year-end reporting
- Corporation-tax compliance
- VAT and indirect-tax compliance
- Payroll-related compliance
- Companies House and corporate reporting
- Audit schedules and working papers
- Responses to audit queries
- Implementation of audit recommendations
- Relationships with external accountants
- Relationships with auditors and tax advisers
- International statutory coordination

You do not need to be a specialist in every tax area. However, you must have enough experience to identify risk, challenge advisers and ensure that obligations are completed properly and on time.

? Finance-team leadership

You will work alongside the existing finance leadership to review, support and develop the finance team.

This may include

- Qualified and part-qualified accountants
- Finance managers
- Management accountants
- Bookkeepers
- AP and AR staff

You will help:

This may include

- Management reporting
- Statutory accounts
- Tax and audit coordination
- Finance systems
